The 41st Egyptian Congress of Neurosurgery
Dr. Hussien El-Maghraby; Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, England, United Kingdom, participated in the 41st Conference of the Egyptian Society of Neurosurgeons (ESNS), which took place on March 21 to 24, 2018. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Amr Moussa, Chairman of the Nile University Board and former Secretary-General of the Arab League, under the presidency of Dr. Nasser El Ghandour, President of the Egyptian Society of Neurosurgeons and Conference President.
The conference featured the participation of 64 international speakers from 23 countries, in addition to 45 Egyptian professors and 70 Egyptian researchers and experts in the fields of neurosurgery and spinal surgery. Many Egyptian, Arab, and African surgeons attended the conference, discussing the latest research in various areas, including:
• Endoscopy in neurosurgery.
• Vascular surgery and brain catheter angiography.
• Spinal surgeries.
• Nervous system tumors.
• Skull Base surgery.
• Pediatric neurosurgery.
• Peripheral nerve surgeries.
• Functional neurosurgeries, such as surgeries for epilepsy patients.
Youm7 newspaper mentioned in its coverage of this distinguished event the international speaker, Dr. Hussien El-Maghraby, who presented a lecture on the latest developments in the treatment of malignant brain tumors.
The conference was held in collaboration with the German and African Neurosurgery Societies and is considered the most important event in this field in the Middle East and Africa. The Egyptian Society of Neurosurgeons was founded in 1967, making it the first in the region, and it joined the International Federation in 1969, playing an active role in the development and training of neurosurgery at local, regional, and international levels.
